Drones are very popular these days. You see them everywhere as toys and to make nice movies. But drones could be used for many more applications. Specifically for industrial applications such as automated inspections and security. However, drones are not yet used for this. And this is because of a major problem.
Every drone needs a pilot to fly. This pilot is scarce, expensive and cannot work 24/7. As a result, drones are often unsuitable or too expensive. To solve this problem, we will replace the pilot with a computer. However, this is not an easy task. The world is full of obstacles and we must be able to avoid them autonomously.
Together with 15 Fontys students we have developed a unique way of autonomy based on End-2-End Artificial Intelligence. Based on human flight data we teach our Ai model to fly like a human. This way our system can always find the best route in even the most difficult situations.

But with EduMotive, all it takes is a phone or tablet to access digital 3D models of various automotive parts. All parts can be viewed in fine detail which enhances learning and enables students to apply it in practice.
Background of the company: CytoSMART is a company that designs, develops and markets automated cell monitoring devices. The technology is used to understand cell behavior and the time-dependent effects of different drug treatments. The clients of CytoSMART use a desktop application to establish a connection with a device and to start an experiment. To analyze the results they navigate to a website - Cloud Portal.
About the project: The aim of this project is to enable the end users to track availability of devices in the lab and to reserve experiment time. The solution will be part of the Cloud Portal and will allow for better time management and monitoring of all experiments. Furthermore, it will be particularly beneficial to know who is in working in the lab without having to be on location.

From the block owners of AI (Semester 4 DB), I have heard that they need a system/cluster that students can use 'on demand' to process their machine learning datasets. While also taking into account specific system requirements (for ML) and, because of the AVG and NDAs, special privacy c.q. confidentiality aspects. I think it would be very nice to improve this by means of docker, clustering and hardware acceleration. Through this system, students of AI, can better learn their AI and can use larger data sets.

The Atos business game helps companies and their teams to bring about change in their organisation and IT systems. Often you see that a team or a company is not in agreement about their IT system or organisation. The game consists of choosing cards with certain statements, based on MIT research on enterprise architectures. These statements fit a certain person or a certain IT system. By having different members of a team choose cards, we can see if they are on the same page. In this way, we can give advice on the changes that are needed to be able to align. Our project allows us to play this game digitally with teams and companies all over the world. This makes change more fun and accessible.
